Temporary problem showing child support payments - any advice

I apply for N400 in a few days based on 5 year GC residence.

I have being paying my child support payments for the past 5 years through Western Union. A month ago I applied by mail for transcripts of all payments and sent them a money order. I heard nothing after 2 weeks and started to call them and email them and basically just got the usual generic customer service replies, they can't even tell me if they received my order. It has now been one month. So I am just going to place a new order over the phone this time with my debit card and sort out the money order I sent them later.

Should I go ahead and submit my application in a few days anyway without the evidence of child support at this time? And then when I get the transcripts from Western Union bring them along to the interview, or indeed, if Immigration writes beforehand mail them.

Or would you adivise I hold back submitting my application until I receive the transcripts from Western Union, which takes between 10-20 days? Of course that time frame I take lightly.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Well getting nowhere with Western Union, so have to give up that approach to prove child support. Can anyone advise - will getting a sworn affidavit from my ex do the job? Thing is, as my ex and child live in Mexico - would INS accept a sworn statement from a Mexican Notary Public (lawyer in Mexcio) this seems to be the only option I have left to show child support payments.

Any views appreciated!

You can send in application now and bring evidence of child support payment along with divorce settlement at interview, if the child support was ordered by courts.

Thanks for replies, unfortunately Health and Family services will not have any records as marriage and divorce took place in another country.

I have paid and continue to pay child support through Western Union, however the good news is Western Union did enventually (yesterday) send me a transcript of all payments going back 4 years ($25 fee for each year) so i can send this with the divorce papers and the offical translation.

I a missing one year 2004 - I paid this through Moneygram transfer at the time, but they are not responding to my requests for transcripts.

But I can get a notorized letter from my ex-wife confirming 2004 payments and then get an offical translation and copy of that here and them bring to the interview, I think that would be okay.

In the meantime I am going to send of my application unless someone offers me different advice.

Thanks again!

Get an notorized letter from you ex-wife you were never late also. It will be very helpfull.

Thanks, that's what I will do,I won't have it in time for sending with my application this week, but will have for interview.

You may need to apostille it because out of country notaries have to be verified and apostille does that. Most western countries have apostille agreement with the U.S..so check if your country is supported.

Apostille

Good point, never thought of that - but yes I think you may be correct, the country in question is Mexico, so time for more research on this point.

Thanks.
