TD visa travel to Canada and Mexico without stamping

Hi,

I entered into Canada as B1/B2 which is valid till 2026. I have applied for status change to TD (my spouse is in Canada/TN visa and I'm a Indian Citizen) and approved last week. Now If I go out of the US, Do I need visa stamping? I have seen for H1B and H4 visa, they can go to Canada/Mexico for 30days and enter into the US without visa stamping. Is it applicable for TD visa also?

Thanks

Your post is confusing. Are you in Canada as a visitor (since there is no B1/B2 in Canada)? Or have you entered US as a visitor (B1/B2)?

As a Indian Citizen, you DO need consular visa to enter US if you leave western hemisphere. If you are in TD status (and are in the US), you can visit Canada/Mexico for less than 30 days and come back to US using your valid I-94 (without the need of consular visa).

Thank you very much for your reply. Sorry for my typo error. I entered from Canada into the US in B1/B2 visa and applied to status change to TD and got approved. Currently I’m in the US. As per your message I understood that I can enter Canada/Mexico without consular visa.

Can I take some cruise from US to Bahamas, Mexico and coming back to US. Do I need Consular visa?

Thank you very much

You can re-enter the US on Automatic Revalidation, without needing a TD visa, if you were gone for less than 30 days to Canada or Mexico only. If you were in any other countries during the trip, you cannot use Automatic Revalidation.
