TD Visa Stamping for spouse

Hi

I am currently on TN status under Management Consulting category. My wife is on TD status (non-Canadian spouse).

I am in the process of switching the jobs. I know, for TN, once I get a new I-94 at the border, its all done. I am wondering what needs to be done for my wife’s TD status. As a non-Canadian citizen, she needs visa stamp on her passport and then I-94 will be issued at the border. The existing visa stamp is valid for another 2 years. I am just wondering whether she can use the same visa stamp and get a new I-94 at the border or she has to get a brand new visa stamp on her passport?

Appreciate if someone could share their thoughts or experiences.

Her visa is still good, as is her I-94, which was granted on the basis of you having TN -- any TN. She doesn't have to do anything. At some point in the next 2 years she needs to update her I-94 to match yours in expiry, and get a new consular visa. But that can be done well down the road.

Thanks nelsona for the response

I will get my new I-94 at the border and she gets her new I-94 as well if we travel together to the border to get approval for my new TN.

And then, she needs to get her consular visa based on the new I-94, however, does she needs to get the consular visa immediately or she can be admitted into the US based on her new I-94 even though her consular visa is based on old TN? Later she can apply for her new TN consular visa?
