Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

Hello,

My LUD shows the following

"On XXX date, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case."

Does it mean that the fingerprints have been sent for name check, or the name check results have been received?

Name/security check has nothing to do with fingerprints, those are separate checks. Search this thread for more info.
 
Name Check..When it gets initiated??

I did my finger printing on Feb 28th and the results were received on the same day.

I applied 485 from Vermont.

There is a LUD Change(no change in the message)

I called Customer Service to get the answer couple of times and they asked me not to call again for another 30 days.

I just want to know when the name check gets initiated?
(Is it at 485 receipt/after finger printing is done).

Please suggest ur valuable opinions.

I feel that they should update the online status when the name check is initiated..

we come to know that 485 is stuck only after it is few months/weeks if there is no status update.
The problem is that the Customer Service is not ready to give an answer if it is initiated or not.

I will call after 1 month and see how it goes..

I am hoping by that time..my name check gets cleared.

Again: name check has nothing to do with FP check, they are separate.

NC is normally initiated soon after filing I-485. I never saw any LUD changes connected to NC initiation.

FP notice I think they send when they suggest you can be approved within 15 months (validity of FP), it does not happen always and then they send another notice, as happened to me (1st FP Oct 2004, 2nd FP Feb 2006). After FP there is normally a LUD change - only if your case is at VSC and not at local office.

Thank you for ur response.

I spoke to my lawyer and according to her NC is initiated after finger printing results are received.
I am not sure..which one is accurate...

I got an LUD change on 485 after my finger printing is done.
(there is no message change..I believe this is common).

I am not sure..where i am stuck now..

any way..i will wait for one month and will call them back.

any other suggestions...??
 
Travel out of the country

Hi all,
Does any one know if travelling outside the country affect the Name check process? I am still using my H1 to travel in and out of the country and work. Since I am sponsored by my spouse (I-130), I dont need an AP. But this changes my I-94 information. So I am wondering if this is leading to Name check delays.

Do you know if there is a way to inform the FBI/concerned authorities of my travel(s) and new I-94?

The immigration officer who interviewed me told me that my application is approved pending Name check. I must have visited the local office about 8 times so far. Each time they tell me its pending on name check. They have sent a reminder to the FBI in Feb '06. The last time they sent the request was in April '05.
 
I got a reply fro DIV XII saying that my name check is pending. It was submitted on Oct 2004. Anyway its no use for me since my PD is way away
from current.

thaks for reply Watingclear i will up date as soon any respons from USCIS.my PD is nov 2000. Is some body notise most of name chaek clear on 5th of month its mean FBI send clear name list every month on 5th any comment

In Jan 2006 when I found from USCIS that my name is not yet completed, I contacted congress man immediately. Name check was initiated in Feb 2005 but completed in March 2006 after congress man sends a status enquiry to FBI.
