Hi Guys every where, and thanks for your help in advance.

I applied for asylum one year ago, ad did my interview, after which I was sure as well as the lawyer that it would be approved but it came against all expectations. It is neither a denial nor approval and referred for the court. The strange was the reason of the referral that "although you provided what is needed to be in the refugee status and been suffered the persecution for long time, we refer you to the court as a matter of discretion because of the fundamental changes in your home country". My lawyer says, this is the strangest statement he ever seen, and the funny, a lot of people I know got approved in the same period before and after me. Please any one encountered some thing like this before, and any advice, I would be glad.

Your lawyer gave you a standard answer: "It is weird, huh."
However, referral to court in the book of law practicing means "deny." Good luck!

Interesting read BigJoe5. Would they use this claim to deny greencard applications too after the 1 year mark?

Need Helps, goodluck!

thank you folks. I mean the reason is strange, the interviewer is agreeing that I did presecuted, which evenagainst the law to refer me to the court , right

you don't need to care about the reason which they gave you,the most important thing is prepare your case in IJ.They give all kinds of reason u know

No, but if one re-availed him or herself of their home country government's services and protection and was stupid enough the travel back so soon, yes they might terminate asylum before one got a chance to file an I-485 (or before looking at the I-485 if one was filed in such a case).
