Strange Question: Apply TN (Canadian) and TD (non-Canadian) same day at non-Canadian US embassy

Thanks for the info bigboy00!
But I am not applying at the border, so maybe Canadians do need a VISA stamp.

What I really need to know if TD can be applied on the same day because it is a family issue.

Canadians do not require a visa stamp. However, if your spouse needs a TD stamp, then she would only be eligible for one if they give you a TN stamp, so it makes sense to ask for both.

Generally, if you are in a distant Consulate, the officials may issue you a TN (and stamp it only because that is what they do), and a spousal TD on the same visit.

However, for consulates in canada, the officers will ask you to obtain the TN frst at the border and then have you come back with that for the TD.

Your consular TN and TD stamps would merely be provisional, since CBP would still be the deciding agency in granting you entrance on TN (and spouse on TD)
