my case has been transferd from texas to miami in december03 .i did send my i-765 to miami for renewal,today Irecived a lettre( strange response).....THE above application has been received. the next step is to have your biometrics taken at a bcis application support center(asc). it is important that you schedule your appointment. if you do not schedule or appear for your oppointement, it could cause your application to be denied.......bliah blah....... please let me knew if anybody has semilar situation or any advise thanks guys..

I got the same letter. Moved to local office in sep and ead renewal applied to miami INS office. I tried 1800 number for the entire week got the response back from them that entire fl appts are full until 42 days and their system doesn't take any appt for 43rd day. SO I have to call every day until I can get an appt.

I think this is just a normal proceed of BCIS when you apply for your 3rd EAD and your case has been transferred.
It happend with me,my case was transferred from Vermont to NYC office in jan 6,2003.When I applied for my 3rd EAD by mail I submited everything to NYC office( but NYC forward my application to Missouri SC due the backlog there),they sent me a letter like yours.I went for the appointment 2 weeks after that.They will take will pictures,signature and fingerprint(index only) and they will use it for your new EAD and discart the pictures that you have sent to them.
Just call them to schedule an appointment and relax.I received my EAD in less then 2 months and just before my 2nd one expire.

I went for a walkin today. They just took my index finger print, photo, checked my ssn, verified with my old EAD card. Thats it. As I mentioned before when I called the 1800 number I wasn't able to get any appt in FL. So I went to asc today at 7Am They opened it at 8. The 1st thing they asked me is do I have any appt. I explained what happend with 1800. They said its ok. But may take a little bit longer to take my finger prints etc. But it was done real quick by 9.15 my work is done. They stamped on my EAD receipt that they took my biometrics. My asc code is2.

I don't know what it is I asked them when I called 1800 number got diff replys diff times. Today when I asked that person said if we don't have ur fingerprints on your old EAD we need to take those in person as your case is in the local ins centtre. No need to fill any formjust matter of few mins work.

on EAD I received have no FP... it says 'NO FP available".
they never asked for FP .... so never need to go for FP. EAD is fine valid and working ....
just read someone wrote that he/she call 1800 and they told to go ASC office for FP!!!!! ..... don't know why the call was made if you have EAD on ur hand already.....many E-EAD had to go for FP and Photographs... and aditional docs to submit.. many like E-EAD I prefered regular mail... it took a littlte bit long to get receipt but headache free for me.
If they needed the FP (TSC) they would have asked to go for FP.... the EAD was filed by mail to avoid any RFE and delays.
just sharing somthing if it helps.

The EAD system is so stupid! If I apply for EAD the old way with paper in the mail, no FP required. If I apply for EAD on-line, then I have to go for FP. Dumb system!

I just got my EAD renewal (3rd) by mail and have never had to go for fingerprints for any of my 3 EAD's!
