Stolen GC, SS card

Friend of mine in this year with DV 2007 program got visa and arrived in US, she received GC and SSN, everything is OK. Yesterday when she was in cafe in NY her bag was stolen by 2 men. In the bag she had everthing, passport (DV on it), GC, SS card..what will happen now..? Some people say that it takes long time to renew GC and SS card..? Anybody here can give an advise..?

Not that hard to get another SSN but will take quite some time to get a replacement GC. She'll haev to file the necessary paperwork. And what the heck is she doing in a cafe with her passport????
She only needs to have her Plastic GC with her at all times and not even SSn. ooh well, she'll have to pay a few hundred dollars to get a replacement

Yes you are right she needs just only GC not SS card..She had a passport in the bag because she went to consulate to extend it's validity.
 
since SSN was stolen, she needs a police report and she MUST get a new SSN to avoid identity fraud (well, at least she can try to get it). From now on, tell her NOT TO CARRY all of her documents with her at the same time.
