Hi,
Me and my wife just had our stokes interview in federal plaza on 12/8/2008 and we passed. She just received her conditional greencard in the mail this past weekend. My question is because she was on H1B and she just got her conditional greencard that is valid for 2 years, should she inform her current employer of the status change or should she wait until she get the 10 year greencard?
Thanks

Not to take anything away from TRC's post, it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that timely I-9s are filed. It is not the employee's responsibility. Having said that, one should be a nice employee and let their HR know :)

Thank you both for the response. Since its only a 2 year greencard, its still not certain that she can be approved for the 10 year one. Should we wait until she get the 10 year one before we notify her employer just in case?

Her status has changed to permanent resident, so the employer should be informed now. The employer will write down the 2-year expiration date on the form.
