Still waiting for second notice on EAD

I already got the notice last Feb. 6 and I went to Boise to get it but when I was to sign my name, it was on my maiden name , so I told them that. I was there 10 minutes, and was told that they can\'t do anything but have to change my name(which I don\'t know what that really means) and was sent home. I was told that will only take a week and they\'ll send me another notice. It has been 2 months and I still haven\'t received any notice. I called costumer service and was adviced to write them and I did that but still they haven\'t responded. Could anybody help me! It\'s all confusing me!

As I understand...

INS said either you can get the EAD in maiden name or change your name. And why are you waiting for the second notice? Was something promised in writing? Or are you referring to any law?

EAD has to be issued based on the name with which you used to apply. If you have your maiden name in your passport (and Birth certificate etc.) it is better to stick to maiden name.

Check the automated voice mail system of your service center during evening hours with your receipt number (the I797 which says your EAD has been received by INS will have the telephone number and receipt number). Based on what is being said in the AVM take the next course of action.
