The card came in the mail today, and it has some green on it at least! As well as a bizarre gold thing on the back. Card expires Nov 29th, 2016 so I've got a while before I have to worry about USCIS again.

Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way on here. I hope I have also helped people on here still on their journey too.

To those who are waiting for their green cards, good luck and have patience. I know what its like to wait, I once was stuck in the USA waiting for visa approval for 2 1/2 years. I lost 2 grandparents in that time as well, so I know how much it sucks to be stuck in USCIS limbo. I feel for all you guys and hope that you'll get approved soon.

However, I'm extremely happy that now I have full freedom to leave and re-enter the USA. My journey ends here. Next stop: Citizenship.

As you can tell I'm a bit happy right now.

The back of the Green Card is weird, it has this large gold section with various things sort of engraved into it, like my photo and A-number. Plus it has bunch of tiny president heads and state flags. I guess this is some pretty advanced anti-forgery device.

The face side looks shockingly low quality and washed out. I look like a fat ghost. ;)

You are done....

Dr,

Congratulations.... I am glad that you now have your temporary citizenship which is for 10 yrs... :D Sorry to hear about your grandparents loss, it is always a difficult balance when it come to living here with parents and other important members overseas.

Once again, a fork is not big enough.... stick yourself with a spade... :D

USCIS bureaucracy roast you beyond recognition... only a spade can stick outside for people to still recognize you.... ;)

Travel as soon as possible to see your folks... good that they know Uncle Sam is still treating you well.... :p

Once again, start counting your days to US citizenship.... :)

I hope you are going to have a good night....a married good night....

Congratulations! I hope to see you in the citizenship forum in three years! Incidentally, I have always enjoyed your contributions to this NG, which usually reflect sound reasoning and a good sense of humor. I hope you will continue on here.

Thanks everyone. I'll try to stick around in the forum to help others out, but I don't think I can get away with doing it at work any more! :D

Congrats!!!

Regarding the back of the card...it does look weird, but somehow cool....
And you know what? I used it last week to re-enter and the IO did not even swipe it. He just checked the back of the card, stamped my passport and wrote ARC on the stamp.

Congratulations dr_lha!!!!......sorry about the loss of your grandparents.....hope you can travel soon to see the rest of your family :) I have enjoyed reading your posts and must say you are one of the many sane ones here :) I hope you will still find time to come back and help the poor souls you have left behind. May The Lord God Almighty bless the works of your hands.

Congratulations, sir! You're really more of a credit than a DR round these parts - stick around!

congratulations dr_lha! i'm glad you received your green fairly quickly. i'm sure you celebrated and is still celebrating. again, all the best! quick question, how long have you been married? has it been more than 3 years that's why the 10-year green card as opposed to the 2-year conditional green card? just wondering. thanks and congratulations again!

Congrats...that is great.
10 years, that is super. that will be a while before you need to worry about it again.
Do they start to give people 10 years conditional card now?
I thought before they give out 2 years card and renew for the normal GC.
So, after 3 years holding GC, that person will be able to apply for citizenship right?
