What will be the Status of derivative applicant after divorce?

Does the GC become void?

Can the GC be revoked by primary applicant?

There was a thread where this was discussed four months back.

The primary Applicant cannot revoke the GC of the spouse.

If the Spouse is waiting for GC, the I485 application may be withdrawn.

There is also thread where someone got divorced with a week of spouse receiving the GC.

He wanted to find the options. It was concluded unless there is a solid evidence that can prove that the spouse had a premeditated plan to divorce after GC, It will be difficult to revoke the spouse's GC.

If the spouse is not legally married to the primary applicant at the time the spouse's I-485 is ajudicated, it cannot be approved.

However, the primary applicant CANNOT WITHDRAW the spouse's I-485, only the spouse can do that. I am not a party to my wife's I-485, nor is my I-140 sponsoring employer. Her I-485 is purely her matter. All I can do should we get divorced is write BCIS a letter indicating we are no longer married, and probably also withdrawing the affadavit of support for good measure. What they do with it is up to them.

Thank you Pingpong02 & TRC for the response.

How difficult would it be to revert to maiden name from married name?
