ImmigrationUSA, what do you

think about how fast they are moving? Since you have been following statistics, you may have better idean than all of us.

What is your LIN-02-XXX , and RD/ND?

ghee:

1) I'm not from immigrationusa.com;
2) My LIN number is LIN020815****(1/7/02 RD? 1/9/02ND)
3) What You See Is What I Have (WYSIWIG):D
4) Hope to see DEC people to get ADs or RFEs next week here!

To ImmigrationUSA

How are you tracking this LIN numbers. My details are

LIN# 02-083-5XXXX
RD : 01-10-2002
ND : 01-11-2002

I want to track LIN02083 and see what is going on.

Thanks

raises an interesting question...

LIN02081 corresponds to roughly jan 9, 2002. as per the stats posted by immigrationUSA, over 31% of them are approved. the one complete LIN posted as an example is really approved.

yet on rupnet, there is absolutely zero activity on 2002 cases. that would seem to suggest that, on the one hand, rupnet's sample is not quite representative, and on the other hand, the real i485 adjudication situation at NSC is actually better than it seems from the opinions/data gleaned from these forums and rupnet.

what say you guys?

Actaully, LIN02081 corresponds to roughly OCt 11. BCIS fiscal year starts on OCT1. I beleive Rupnet statistics are correct. Good Luck all!

Pork, That always puzzles me too.

I have been looking at ImmigartionUSA's stat. My questions are:

1) Is that a total representation for those two dates? Few hundred app of same category in a day!
2) Are they all employment based?
3) If they are EB based then how to find out just looking at the
number? Can't they be NIW etc etc... also?

There seem to be 15 months of turn around time approx. looking
at 081 numbers.
I think nobody can say for sure what ImmigrationUSA is pulling out
but definitely interesting to look at and make our judgements as he/she once said, "what you see is what you have".

rajb00, LIN-02-081-xxxxx would correspond to a ND of early Jan 02. You are right when you say BCIS's year starts Oct 1. But 81 computer days since Oct 1 cannot be Oct 11 !!

I think rupnet is not representative for RFE %s. But it is a good indicator of the month that is being processed.

Also, ImmigrationUSA's reports could include all 485 cases - EB, FB, derivative of EBs and such. That might help shed some light why 30% of Jan 02 cases have been processed, with no such indication on rupnet. Or ImmigrationUSA could be pulling a fast one - just kidding :p

ghee, frodo...

you guys are both on the ball. i have been following a few i485 LIN#'s myself, which i had picked out at random that correspond to early, mid and late dates in dec 01 and jan 02 (one of the ways we will use, misuse and abuse the bcis online status tracker ;) ), just to see what, if any, activity is occuring. and as far as i know, there is no way to differentiate between EB and FB cases. you can possibly tell derivative cases of children, but that is about all.

on the other hand, NSC would not be processing FB cases, would it? they would go to the local office. i might have thought that regional centers' stats could include local cases as well, but now i am inclined to think not, since - as far as i know - local FB cases do not even get LIN (or EAC/WAC/etc.) numbers.

so immigrationUSA's stats should include only the four i485 categories which are processed by NSC: EB, asylee, refugee and HRIFA (haitian refugee). according to the latest NSC processing times as of 03/15/03, asylee and HRIFA cases are backlogged to 1999 and 2000 respectively, whereas the EB and refugee cases being processed are dated 08/01/01. that date itself might not mean much, except it might tell us that EB and refugee case dates are in the same ballpark.

assuming that there would not be as many refugee cases as EB, the former's processing may well lead the latter's. but the percentage of cases approved as shown by immigrationUSA's stats would suggest either refugee cases are much higher in proportion to the total, or more EB cases have been approved than we know from rupnet.

and so the search continues...

Pork, you have such indepth knowledge

of this INS/BCIS man!! Your analysis is great.
If ImmigrationUSA has written a small web extract subroutine that will go and get the case status of random numbers may be he will borrow that to us(just kidding!) ..... He may not have typed by hand all those numbers !

thanks, ghee...

i learned whatever i know mostly from participating in this forum, and reading all the gurus' posts... and that is the great thing about this forum, it is great pool of shared knowledge. this has been my source of info, sounding board and support group, all rolled into one!

thank you mr. khanna, and to you too, greaty-k.

To rjb00 & Pork Chop

LIN02081 is indeed January 9, 2002 ND because my ND is Jan 11, 2002 and my LIN is 02-083-5**** .

Here I have an interesting recollection of memory. I remember calling IIO few weeks before the last freeze and she said that my file is expected to be assigned to an officer within 4 to 5 weeks. However then the freeze came and I am still here. But the most interesting part is that, I did check some random LIN after looking at ImmigrationUSA's analysis and found a good number of Jan'02 cases were approved in Sept and Oct' 02 ( just before freeze )and after that no significant approval in Jan'02 cases. So this tells me that 'the then INS' may have started working on some Jan,02 cases, but I also believe some of them may be 'Age-Out' cases.

I may not be correct in my observation, but thanks for listening.
