state residency requirements

Hi everyone. I have a tricky situation here so I appreciate some advice.

I know that I need to be a resident of a state/jurisdiction 3 mths before filing my N-400. I have lived in VA (same county) for 8 years, filed VA taxes and have my lease in VA. The issue is that I kept my PA drivers license. I intend to get a VA license soon (in a few days) but I don't wanna wait until February to start filing my N-400. So, can I file my N-400 in a few days once I get my VA license or do I have to wait 3 more mths? The naturalization interview won't be an issue as I will have a VA license by then but will the question come up as to when I receive the said license? I am worried that there might be some technical issues with respect to when I got my VA license, but the I am not trying to lie or anything as I have lived in VA for that long.

Please chime in. Many thanks in advance.

Well, you're supposed to have the licence of the state in which you live.

Having said that, you'll show proof of having lived in VA for years (jobs, house, etc.) so when you place that VA licence on the desk of the interviewer, there is little to no chance they will check the issue date. Go ahead and apply now, even before you receive the licence (if you're already eligible).

thanks for responding. actually when the interviewer looks at it, the date won't matter cos it could be a renewal date. But I posted because I don't know if I need to submit a copy of VA DL when i file the N-400, or whether there are some obscure technicalities that I don't know about. I am worried that someone would actually ask me about when I got my VA license even though that's such a dumb question cos I have lived in VA for so damn long :) and have filed VA taxes, etc. etc.

With the USCIS, I am just very careful cos.
