Spouse's name endorsment for H1/H4

Hello,

I would go for H1 and H4 stamping in Delhi in June,03.
For that, I would need spouse's name endorsed on my passport and my wife's passport in RPO, Delhi.
As my passport was issued in Calcutta, would it be an issue in getting the spouse's name endorsed in the RPO at Delhi?

In Bombay it takes only 1 day (if you give “Chai pani”) or maximum 2 days.
New Delhi is the most corrupt city in India and they can make issue that they want to verify with Calcutta Passport office and if you give more” Chai pani “ it can be done the same day or next day better talk to the agent sitting near Delhi PP office. You could have endorsed the name here in US through nearest Indian consulate. Go to Indian Embassy site or any Indian consulates site and download Miscellanies Service form and fill it up, keep the marriage certificate ready, one photo, they may also ask you to attach one affidavit of name change and pay the fees
