GC for my mother - Pls help
Hi,
Need some help on the process of applying GC for my mother. I went thru USCIS website and my understanding of consular processing is as follows:
1) Apply for I-130 with citizen cert and birth cert copy
2) Upon approval, my mother would be notified by for interview
3) Upon granting visa, my mother comes on an immigrant visa hands the packet to the IO at the port of entry.
4) Within 30 days my mother receives actual GC
Now the questions:
a) Is my above understanding correct? Are there any other forms to be submitted?
b) Where can I find info on Consular Processing for Mumbai?
c) What is the fee for the Consular Processing in Mumbai? Or is it just $420 for the I-130... (wishful thinking )
d) My mom's B2 visa is expiring in April 2012, can she still travel to the US so I can do AOS instead?
e) If she cannot travel in the next 2-3 months should I apply for visa extension, get her here and do AOS? Is that recommended or getting B2 is more hassle than getting immigrant visa?
Thanks in advance
