Sponsoring my sister

Hi, My sister is currently on a F1 visa. I am a citizen and want to file GC for her. She is married. Can I file for her GC, if yes approx how long does it take for her GC, and approx how long for her EAD?

The OP has not mentioned if he has nieces/nephews. Regardless, that will grant no benefit to the OP's sister unless the children are US citizens and will turn 21 before her I-130 becomes current.

That's a long time. Her children will go starving

It doesn't say anything about children, it says she is married.

But either way, she is in the USA with a NON-immigrant visa, with the purpose of studying AND then going back to her home country.

It should not be assumed that she should have the privilege of becoming a resident or work in the USA.

She has to maintain her legal status in the USA on her own and obtain an EAD own her own (OPT perhaps, then H1B?). Her brother's petition can do little for her.

Thank you

Thank you, Triple citizen and PraetorianXI. She has a son but he is also not a US citizen. Guess better option for her is to wait and apply for H1.

PraetorianXI, why does your signature say 2009 and 2010 with future dates in it, are you anticipating to send docs that month?

Yes you can sponsor her. 12-14 years for GC. 11-13 years for EAD.

I made my comment based on what Triple Citizen said about the 11-13 years to get your EAD.

I think that wouldn't be a good option to go for and go for your OPT or HB1 Visa would be a better option or maybe get through other ways.
