Special AC21 Case..Please help me!?

Hi Frnds,
I filed 485/140 with company 'X' and after 180 Days changed to company 'Y' and Filed AC21 with 2nd company worked for 2.3 yrs layed off now but i will be on this comapany payrole for next 2 months.
I am looking for new job now.
1) What is the best way to work now?w2 or 1099?
2)If I don’t get job after these 2 moths what happens to my status?
3)My EAD/AP is Valid up to Nov2007 is this 'Y' Company can do anything about my status with INS?like cancel 485 or EAD?
4) If I work for some consulting position before I get Fulltime job ..do I need to inform INS abt this company?
Hope you guys understand my situation, please help me out?

Nothing. You remain in status unless the I-485 is denied.

No. Company Y is not a party to your immigration process, any more than I am.
