Hi,
I am trying to apply for a Spanish visa(shenghen) does anybody have a experience dealing with the consulate of Spain? Please share if you can.

For NYC, you can get Spain visa the same day. Carefully read their requirements, though. They need you to have medical insurance. It is fairly cheap, but it is a pain.

Thanks my friend, I am in DC and I did get the travel insurance, do they require a hotel reservation too?

They require either a reservation or an invitation from a private party, yes. It's quite a straightforward application, although they may be rude. Go for it. I've applied for Schengen visas at the Dutch consulate, and they've come through (with RTDs).
