hey,

i stay at Los angeles CA and i have my tourist visa here, i am still legally here and i'm engaged to be married, now my fiance was born in the US and she is a US citizen, now i dont really know how to start with the imigration stuff i dont want to be here ilegally and i want to feel the forms and send them before my i-94 expires, i want to be in the process time before it expires.
I tried to look trough your database of the FAQ's but couldnt really find something actually got lost, if anybody could direct me to the right place i will appreciate it.
I looking for info about the exect forms to fill out, the amount it gona cost me to the whole thing, the time it gona take for geting the working visa first then the green card and so on...and if i have to do stuff that i still dont know, need all of that info and help from you guys.

help will be highly appreciated.

Were you engaged to the US citizen when you applied for your tourist visa? Were you engaged when you last entered the US?
 
no, i'm currently stay at the US with my tourist visa, i came here about 3 months ago, my I-94 expires at the end of JAN. i married her here a couple of days ago.
 
Basically check out the book in my signature at the bottom of this post... it's only about $25 and offers a wealth of information. Use this portal to post any further questions you may have about the process.

You can also search this forum for the forms you'll need which will basically be the I-130, I485, I765 and I131 if you would like to travel. You will need a medical exam (form I693) and G325A and your wife will need to fill out I864 for you.

You will also need to provide supporting documentation for evidence of your marriage. All of the information is in the instructions for the forms I listed above, so I won't go through those here.

no i had my vist alot before i meet her and got engaged with her, i'm in the US right now and i got engaged a couple of days ago.

i know the forms i need to fill out and they are:

I-130
I-864
I-765
I-131
I-485
I-693
G-325A

my wife will need to fill out:
G-325A
I-864

what else do i need to bring with me or to show?
and do i need to hire a lawyer or can we do it by ourselfs?

Do you want to try to post your question in flame free zone? In there I think people will be more civilized to discuss your issue.

BTW, lawyer vs self-filing

Lawyer:
few thousand dollars. Somebody guides you through of the whole process.

Self-filing:
Only filing fee and medical exam fee. A lot of works. Get some anxiety when you receive your RFE.

Eleanor, thanks for spreading the word about the Flame-free zone ... :) that's exactly what it is for, to be able to ask questions without receiving negative criticism. Of course, for those who would like us to shoot unsolicited potential holes in their case, the flame-free zone would not be the right place. So they have a choice ...

vadim88, I've read about many people that were misguided by their lawyers and/or still had to do a lot of the work by themselves. So if you get a lawyer, be sure to get a good one that's worth the money. Sound to me like your case is moderately complicated by the fact that you have immigrant intent 3 months after having entered on a nonimmigrant visa, which is usually ok but nonetheless could become the focal point of your application. Look up the 30-60-90 day rule.

My advice is for you to start to assemble evidence of the time line of your engagement and evidence of a bona fide marriage. You have to be able to prove you had nonimmigrant intent when you entered and then suddenly entered a bona fide marriage. Good luck!

If you got engaged a couple of days before please ask your fiancee to file a K1 fiancee visa , but please consult a lawyer , a lawyer will be able to guide you in a better way..
 
Hey guys thanks for the comments, I still think that not body should say if i married her just for the GC or from love, i have known her for more then 3 months i just came to the usa to see her and to travel but i asked her to marrie me and since she doesnt want to come with me to my country i'm trying to legally stay here with her, what's wrong with that?!

i know the forms i have to fill out, but i dont know what she needs to fill out and i dont know all of the small things we need to do, we already have a bank account on both of our names and the place we have registred on our names, besides that what else do i need? i know i need my birth certificate and it's on it's way and i need two passport photos what else do i need? is there a complete list of those things?

any help will be kindly appreciate.

Please consult a qualified immigration lawyer who will know what papers to file , and in case of any issues he will let you know the best way to tackle that issue , self filing may times may result in rfe's if you are not sure about the processes and forms

just an advise
