Some questions concerning the i-134 ....

I have two question concerning the i-134:

1- can the sponsor live outside the states?
2- can the sponsor send the 1-134+w2+1040 directly to the embassy?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

I don't believe a person living outside the US can fill a i-134,and they should send the i-134 and w2 to you and you take it to the interview.

thanks for your help but I need an effective response with evidences (official website, old topics .....)... I can't play with that lololololololol

That's a rather rude response to someone who was trying to help you. Did you try do a search for such websites yourself before coming to ask the question?

I can't see how they would accept someone who doesn't live in the US as a sponsor. The I134 is signed under threat of perjury, person can be sued etc. They would need the person resident in the US for any of that to be effective.

Also 2. In the form to be filled in says "I have resided in the United States since.... ", and there are no other options, which appears to imply that the person is resident.

Lionhawk's couldn't be more correct! Whoever is providing you with the AOS has to be resident in the US and has to be willing to hand over the form and supporting documents to you. I know a lot of people would rather send the form directly to the embassy because it contains such highly personal information, but it doesn't work like that.

Now since you want "a more effective response with evidences ......" something more in line with what you would rather read or hear, maybe you should spend some time digging through USCIS's website to see if you will find that, or search through old topics yourself.

If you want something more effective and with evidence, you have to do it yourself mate! don't expect someone else to do the work for you.

I already checked, I was not able to find answers in USCIS's or blogs websites to my questions, thanks a lot for your answers and efforts.... ,

Ps You don't need to feel so offended!!!! we are speaking about an important matter that may disqualify me, of course I want to be sure that the info provided is reliable, sorry for the misunderstanding but please understand my point of view, you can consider also that this is my last post concerning this matter...

The above post may be your last regarding your own question or the responses it's generated, notwithstanding, I will go ahead and respond accordingly. You may ignore my post, that is fine.

Yes, we understand you asked the question because it is of great importance to you and you want to be certain as to the quality of the response you're getting. However, you need to realize most of the people who bother to respond to questions here are not being paid to do so, most are not asking to be thanked or appreciated for doing what they do (with the exception of a few who ask for public recognition. The assistance being provided here would cost a great deal if one were to approach an immigration attorney, so it matters a lot how one responds/reacts to the answers provided. Obviously if Lionhawk's answer had been incorrect, one or two other people would have stepped forward to clarify things.

Nothing wrong in asking people for further clarification or evidence to support their response; choice of word matters a great deal. So if you post like you find the response to a question you've posted odious or with disdain, then you leave yourself open to being misunderstood.

Anyway, here's a link to the U.S. Department of State Foreign Affairs Manual Volume (page 20) stating who can fill out an affidavit of support:

To qualify as a sponsor, an individual must be a natural person (not a corporation or other business entity) who:
- Is a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States (including conditional residents);
- Is at least 18 years of age;
- Filed the petition which forms the basis for the visa application (or has a substantial interest in the entity which filed the petition); and
-Is domiciled in any of the 50 States of the United States, the District of Columbia, or any territory or possession of the United States.

It's not a matter of people easily getting 'butthurt' or whatever other nasty word you wish to use. Just because the OP ended his posting with lol does not justify the fact that his response came across like he found the person who posted it incompetent. He could have used some more appropriate choice of words to request for the evidence he wanted. Of course nobody is obligated to take any response provided by others here, and nobody is obligated to provide answers to the questions being asked either. Respect is a two-way street!

I stand by my original post, that that was a rude way to respond to someone trying to help him. And it wasn't me that had answered it originally - I don't like people being rude when they come on here, ask a question and then don't get the answer they want.

Like sm1smom said, no-one is forced to be here, or paid to be here. Sometimes people give wrong answers, and then others are quick to step in to clarify. People like her and I have been through the process and hang around because we know the process, know it can be confusing, have been through it successfully and try to help. Most people come here for help and (understandably) disappear once they are done with it all. I had my interview in June last year and have my green card already. I don't "need" to hang out on this forum. Responses like the op's and yours do sometimes make me wonder if it's worth the effort, but most people seem to appreciate it and I believe in paying it forward. But just like in real life, people who seem ungrateful will soon find that others are less likely to help them. You may call that "butthurt" if you wish, I call it the reality of human interaction, on the net or otherwise. YMMV.

You're a douche, my friend, you will fit right in with other douches on Jersey Shore. I hope that is your POE.
