Significance of Yellow Letter?

Does receiving the yellow letter imply that the background/name check is already completed successfully? or is it just something they send by default after a certain duration.

How would I know when I am in the queue for the interview? Can that be concluded if I received the yellow letter?

The yellow letter (case file review) is sent out by default to those who have disclosed certain types of issues that require further evidence to be brought to interview. It doesn't for sure signal that your background check is complete or that you are in queue for an interview , but some have reported receiving their interview letter soon after receiving CFR letter.

The yellow "Request for Evidence" standard letter is issued usually between the fingerprint appointment and the interview appointment. I don't think it means anything with regard to whether your fingerprints have passed, I think it just means that USCIS has received notification in its workflow that you have completed your fingerprint appointment.

The yellow letter is sent out to those people who answered 'Yes' on any questions that may require further explanation. It is a standard form letter and it does not mean that USCIS has made any judgement about your case whatsoever.

Only bring to the interview what pertains to your situation and don't worry about all the other stuff the letter says.

Your interview appointment letter should follow in the next two to four weeks, if not sooner.
 
Today i got the yellow letter it says i have to bring the income tax return but i submitted it already with my application huh oh well whatever they want.

There may be a note somewhere in the yellow letter that says "If you have not submitted with application".
 
Generally, I have seen people receiving their IL within two weeks of FP. Mine has already passed two weeks and no sign of getting the IL. Does it mean that there might be something wrong in biometric? How much time does it takes to get a IL after FP in Pheonix center?

Depends on the location. My CFR letter took two months after fingerprinting.

That was the reason I asked the question whether the CFR (yellow letter) implied the completion of background check. Since it comes from NBC central location, one would assume that if it was just a standard notice it should more or less come at a "fixed" interval after FP for everyone. However over this forum I have seen people getting it anywhere from 2 weeks to 10 weeks after FP to not getting at all. Why this inconsistency then since FBI takes only a day for FP check in almost all cases?

I can understand the IL coming at different timelines since it involves scheduling with the local DO and the workload/timeline could be different at each DO. But it is strange for the timeline variations in the yellow CFR letter.

Of course the gurus are of the consesus that it does not imply background check completion; so that probably is the case then.

Keeping my fingers crossed to get the IL soon!

I figure the reason is:

Yellow letter is sent after some IO manually review your application
so differet bact of cases are sent to different IOs. Some IO may take vacation, sick leave etc.

Sometimes yellow letter came after IL
 
I got a yellow letter and all it mentioned was that I should bring my driver's license at the time of the interview.

yeah mine was income tax return which i submitted already but i will bring it just to make sure. I hope interview letter is around the corner.
