Significance of date on I94 with AP

Used AP for the first ever time yesterday. After 20 minutes of processing in Secondary I was given back my stamped AP letter, passport and I-94.

I am curious about the date on the I-94, I am used to being an H1-B and the date would be the last date that I can remain in the country. But this I-94 says "Paroled until August 23 2003".

I've read that after the first time you use an AP you just show it and walk on through. So does this mean that I can happily walk through Immigration without processing until 8/23 or is this saying that I need to leave and come back again before then?

The more I type this the more it looks like it must be the former. Maybe I have a little too much Immigration paranoia in me?

Yes to your last question.
However you have to get processed every time you cross into US till Aug 2003 , however the secondary inspection should become cursory and not prolonged...

Second and Subsequent entry using AP would also be thru the Secondary Inspection, as as Jaxen pointed out, it would be a fast one, unlike the first usuage of AP. My personal Experience

Nobody answered his questions on date? Isn't that suppose to be one year, instead of two months?

Hi Jaxen,
I need some clarification;

Hi tangodancer,
does ur AP expire in aug 2003?

Yes, it does. Thats why I only got two months rather than a year. It will be the one year anniversary of my application being filed on August 23rd this year. Guess I need to get on with applying for a new one..

Now if only I had some idea of how much longer to go! Since I filed at the district office I can't use the online case status :(
