Hi guys,

I am planning for applying for TN.
In past I have worked for a US company for 3 years but it was not legal/without
any work permit , so should I put it on my resume ? ( I paid taxes of that work in USA).
I also filed for labor certification using that employment.
Is it ok to mention that work experience or they will find it out anyway .....?

Thanks,

Azar

If you were present in the US during your work period then you will have a problem showing it. If they see it on a resume, they will ask how is it that you were working back then (H1B? TN? OPT?) If you answer that you worked illegally then you will face a long term ban from the US.

Past experience is only required for a few TN categories, and only if you don't have a bachelor's degree. It does not have to include a resume.

The firm you are now applying for should know what is needed for the letter, and put only that.

Your resume that you would submit to the company must only contain facts. It does not need to contain ALL of your fatcs, however.

I think what Nelsona is trying to say is that you could show the experience but not necessarily say the location.

If I put down that I worked for IBM, nobody is necessarily going to ask me where.
