Should I have my original copy of my Master degree

Due to some financial problem my university has been holding my original diploma and transcript for the last 8 months, but they provide me a letter from the college saying that I have finished my master degree at some area at this date….
Is this will work if I have been asked during the interview?

P.S. The college is located in U.S.A

well, if you can't get ur original diploma, wat other choice do you have??
U'll have to do with what you have buddy
 
My opinion (I don't know whether this is correct): If you don't have the original diploma, the consular officer might want to know the reason for this. If the problem is that you haven't paid all the fees (this is how I interpret "financial problem") that makes you look very bad.
 
Do not worry. If you bring them a paper from your university stating that you have your diploma, it will be ok.
I have lost my diplomas and asked ny university to send me a letter stating that I have my degree and the embassy was ok.
They just want to be sure that you have education.
