i have tn visa and my wife got td visa in backhome she is canadian immigrant. My daughter who is canadian citizen, when my wife was coming to usa, immigration officer asked my wife to apply for my daughter's visa they did not give visa rightaway but they give entry for 6 months to my daughter. i am thinking to apply visa by mail or i should go to border. should i apply td visa or change of status. thanks for your kind information.

In what status did they admit your daughter? If she is a Canadian citizen she requires no visa and could have been granted TD status on the spot. If she is in the US with an I-94 a change of status to TD will simply require an I-539.

Change of Status. Do you have proof she was legally admitted to the US? If not, it might be quicker and simpler to take her to the border and back.
