Ok, I am not sure where to post this, so I am going to try it here. If I am in the wrong Forum, please tell me which forum I should try.
Here is my issue, and I am very confused on this. I am an IT Consultant, who specializes in a very particular piece of software. I implement it all over the world. Recently, I heard of some work in the USA, and the company there could really use my help. My confusion is what visa this comes under...I am only going to be needed for a few weeks (although, if this goes well there may be more work I can do for other clients, but each implementation is about 2 weeks).
Elsewhere in the world I usually just bill out of my UK company for the work and this is what I was planning on doing, but then someone said that it would not be possible for the US client to pay me...is that true? Am I just missing some process or visa or something?
I find it hard to believe my friend when he tells me that short term IT consultation work can not be done in the US by foreign nationals and then billed to the US...what am I missing here?
Please help....
