Service request uninformative--what next?

Hi,
I completed my interview on 1/14, and my IO said he would normally recommend me for approval right there, but a supervisor had to approve the application because I didn't have the court disposition for a citation I reported (I had proof of payment for the fine). He told me not to worry about getting the disposition unless they asked for it, and that it wouldn't be long either way. After 120 days I called for a service request. I received a letter almost immediately, but it simply said they are conducting additional review, and to contact customer service if I haven't heard anything in 6 months.

Should I simply wait? Should I schedule an infopass to see if I can get more info? Something else?

Consider Infopass and speaking with supervisor, and telling them your case has been waiting more than the 120 days after interview required by law.
If that doesn't get you anywhere, then contact congressman's office and USCIS Ombudsman.
Finally, consider filing 1447(b) lawsuit.

I have a feeling that the OP's file is collecting dust somewhere. Bobsmyth is correct - it's time to do something to nudge them.

I think the service request itself may have nudged them, I was about to make an InfoPass appointment, but I got my oath letter on Friday. Thanks so much for the replies: this forum has been extremely helpful to me.

First and foremost, congratulations!

Secondly, this somewhat proves my theory that your file was just collecting dust on a supervisor's desk. Since it was a mere formality of having a supervisor sign off on your application, the service request may quite possibly have nudged them.
