Serious Help Needed

Needs Help

New Member
First and foremost, I'm new to this site and I hope someone can help me here, since it seems as if though phone reps of the USCIS are unwilling to do so, or just don't know how to help me.

My situation, in my opinion is a bit complicated.....

....I lost my green card (lost my wallet actually and it was in there). I never filed a police report (no one to blame but me). In addition to losing the green card, it was already expired which I wasn't aware until I recently came across some documents I had filed.

My questions are the following:

1. What application(s) will I need in my scenario? I know the I90 is to report a lost/stolen card as well as to reapply for a green card that's about to become expired or is already expired.

2. Since my green card has been expired for several months now, will I need to fill out any different form(s)?

3. What is the process in a case like mine?

All help is greatly welcomed seeing as to how the ones who are supposed to help us, have not done so.

Thanks in advance.

-------------------you will file I-90 with fee+attach Police report

--------------------Form I-90 with fees. once you get I-90 filing reciept take infopass and go to local USCIS office with your passport and I-90 filing reciept. USCIS Local office will stamp your passport.

3. What is the process in a case like mine?

....thanks Ginnu, but the thing is, as I stated in my initial post was that I never filed a police report. Also, I don't have a passport (haven't traveled as of yet out of the country).

Is it possible to forgo the whole reinstating my green card and just apply directly for citizenship? I've been a legal resident for over 7 years, so I was wondering if I can just go straight to the citizenship transition, or do I need to reinstate my residency prior to going for the citizenship?

------you can file Police report now.

---------------------- Why you dont have Passport? how did you came to US? you can get your passport from your country Embassy or Consulate if your Passport got expired.

you CAN file for US citizenship but the N400 apllication ask info about your Green Card like the date it was approvoed , your A# and name on the card. if one has lost the GC one need to file form I-90 and you will get I-90 filing reciept. if you get New Card before US citizenship Interview then take the Card with you if you dont get Card then take the I-90 filing reciept with you.

Can I still file a police report for something that has been missing for a while now?

Also, I don't have a passport because I came to the U.S. when I was 2 years old (I'm 26 now). As I mentioned, I've never traveled out of the country so I never (at least until now) had a reason to obtain a passport.

------------------Yes, inform the officer that you need to file Police report as it is needed for I-90 application if GC is lost.

---------------------do you mean you come to US without passport? even if you were 2 years old then you took a flight to US and Airline needed passport. if you dont have Passport how did you enter US and on what status? how did your parents came to US?. what is your country of Birth?
