sEEKING CITIZENSHIP THROUGH REGISTRY PROVISION???

Hi! Much to my dismay , I recently was informed that I am not a US citizen. This was even though I have lived here all but 3 months of my life . I was born in Ireland and brought over as a infant . Unfortunately , my parents were told by airport customs at the time ,upon entry into the United States that I was an American though them .This as it turned out was bad information . They were Irish immigrants , but had documentation to be in the United States legally, prior to my birth . I also have 3 older siblings born in the USA . I recieved my SSN at a young age . I have lived here , went to school here , served 4 years honorably in the US Navy( although the wrong years according to my lawyer- No war going on) , and worked here my entire life . Now I must go about the whole process of becoming an American , even though this is the only life I've ever known . Its funny, but I run the risk of being deported to a country of which I have never known. :(
But I digress . I am not quite up to speed on these abbreviations and terms that you all use on these boards , so I'm not sure if what I'm reading necessarily applies to me . So far I have applied for a I-485 and a work authorization card . I have had my biometrics taken once and recieved a work authorization card . This is essential in order to renew my drivers license. So thats done . My questions are simple , but for the life of me I cant find a definitive answer looking through these boards .Probably aint looking in the right place . So please bear with me . Any input would be appreciated .
1) What exacty is the next step? Will I have to go for a second biometrics? Will the USCIS call me for an interview?
2) How long should I have to wait for a response fron USCIS for my Green card ? I live in NJ and believe I will be processed through the Cherry Hilll office , even though my biometrics were taken in Philly .
3) My work authorization card expires in October . When do I need to apply for a renewal, as Im sure NJDMV will only issue a DL valid through that date.
4) Has anyone else applied through Registry provision ? Is the process any easier or faster ,or conversely maybe more complicated ? Thanks in advance and good luck to all.

Interesting and sad story. Not everything is clear from your description. You mention that at the moment when they brought you to US first time your parents were immigrants, i.e. had permanent resident status. I have read in the "After the green card and US Citizenship" part of this forum that when parents have green cards and a child was born during their trip abroad, at the first entrance to US this child gets permanent resident status (some conditions should be satisfied: a child must be accompanied by at least one of the parents, should be not older that some age, I don't remember exactly, but I guess it was 6 months).

Usually, it is recommended to apply for EAD renewal between 120 and 90 days before its expiration.

I-485 processing takes from 5 weeks to 5 years, but I never seen any statistic specific for registry provision.

Rather strange and complicated case indeed! Sorry to hear how everything went with you.

If your older siblings were born in the US, perhaps they are US cittizens by now and if so, you can apply through them for family-based I-485.

Surf the uscis.gov website, you have a lot to research.

Maybe if you provide much more detailed info. someone here would be able to advice accordingly.

Goodluck.
