Everyone please note that we will absoloutely not get any time to send fax or contact conference members. Also tomorrow is Friday and then during the weekend if we call any senator or HR'S office we won't be able to talk to any one because of christmas.
Therefore it is recommended to do following things from this moment.
1. CALL senators and HR'S of our areas
2. CALL the members who are likely to be in the conference committee.
3. Send letters via fax requesting them to include the section 8001 of S1932.
I have attached the list of all the SENATORS and HR'S (Refer contact HR List.xls) and the possible members of the conference committee (Refer Conference Committee Members 1.xls).
Keep the pressure on and keep up the good work.

I think you have to call your respective senators washingtons office and they will be able to tell you if the representative from your state is in conference committee.

Report indicates that the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader have reached an agreement to pass the reconciliation bill within this week. On the Senate side, the motions for the conferee instructions are currently passed very quickly. Out of the seven motions, the Senate has already passed three motions before 4:00 p.m. EST, and the rest of the motions are expected to pass before the end of the day. The House has yet to act on the instructions to their conferees but considering the agreement between the two leaders of the House and the Senate, the House is anticipated to act on it very quickly as well.
The Senate motions mean that the Senate conferees are not allowed to compromise these seven instructions in the original S. 1932 of the Senate. The conferees can negotiate with the House conferees for all other differences but the Senate has not mandated the conferees on the immigration packet. Due to the short timeframe within which the conferees from both the House and the Senate will have to reach a compromise for all the differences, unless the House is determined to accept the Senate's S.8001 and S. 8002 when they come to the conference table, the chance of the immigration packet in the original bill is slim as the Senate will pass the final compromised S. 1932 conference report even without the immigration packet.

some good news
I am new to this group. I was on another website but switched here becoz of the activity level. Anyway the good news is that i was watching cspan and they announced the senators in the committee. Since it was quick i could not gather all names but Kennedy, Specter, Coryn, Sessions are 100% there.So since specter is the father of Sec 8001 we all still have hope.

Today early morning, after reading comment of www.immigration-law.com, I appealed every one to do mass call to lawmaker. immidiately after posting, I called two senetors and one congressman of Maryland.
Afternoon, I called them again. The representative told me that they recieved lot of phon call today and definately it will have impact.
I also asked my Son, who is in Grade 12 and going to University next years, to call Senetors and congressman. He talked as follow:
"My dad's company filed for permenant resident for our family. Due to present retrogation, it will take 4/5 years to have GC for our family. I am going to University next year and pre-qualified for prestigious Meyerhoff scholarship program due to extra ordinary academic and extracuriculum record. The scholarship is $10,000 per year for four years undergrad study (I can send letter to Honerable Senetor regarding scholaship). But the condition of scholarship is to have permenant resident (GC) status before July 06.
I would humbly request honarable Senetor/congresman to do all efforts to incorporate section 8001 in final version of S 1932. This will enable me to have GC and evantually prestigious scholarship.
Please help me by supporting immigration package (8001/2) in final version of bill S 1932."
This really appealed to representative and promised to put case in front of Senetor/congresman as soon as possible.

I am from PA and I have called Sen Hach (spoke to Jen his Secretary…AND I just spoke with the secretary of Senator Orrin G. Hatch her name was Sara. I asked for his support to include S8001 to the S1932 bill. I did mentioned EB retrogression and its impact on thousands of non-immigrant workers like me. Sara told me that the senator is in meeting and she will pass my msg to him , she only asked for my name .
Also I think we should not be worry about which constituent the senator belongs too at this time (when we mention S1932 they know we are not US Citz ), just call them and be nice to the secretary , first ask for their name at the end wish him/her /and their family happy holiday etc… remember the secretary’s are the one who is conveying the msg to the senator make sure to address them by name at least once during the conversation

Guys just to reiterate what i said b4, Sec 8001 NO LONGER corresponds to Immigration Reform in the conference committee. Pls be careful when u mention that section. From what Sen Specter's DC office told me, Section 8001 does NOT correspond to immigration relief.
Hopes are high
I called Senate Budget committee's Chairman office. Explaied everything, diiference between S1932 and HR4241 and how 8001 brings more revenue and helps the legal immigrants. The secrectary was nice. She told me, she will pass the message. Lets hope for the best.

Well we all pay fedral income taxes and i am sure it does not say that the funds will be spend inthe state where i work or reside , and the senator/ HR personal when they pass a bill into law it has impact in all states equally.

We need just that one person to request that these provisions be added? Preferably a Representative.
Maybe you guys can find that person and give their office a personal visit tomorrow.
I believe that if we can get our piece into the Bill, no one will seriously oppose it at this stage since they are running out of time.
