I applied for RTD on 04/10/2006 and noting yet, i am supposed to travel next week and I am getting upset, did anybody get approved recently

I am about to leave for Europe in one month and no RTD yet.

I applied in early March but did not send my old RTD (my lawyer's paralegal apparently had no idea how these thing work :mad: ).\My old RTD expired 4 days ago and right away I had a LUD.

How can I ask for rush processing though?
I can't miss that plane on early July.

You can send a letter on your own to the attention of the director asking for rush processing (with appropriate documentation demonstrating why your trip is so urgent).

I hate to tell you but given how inefficient they are that letter will probably be lost inside the NSC maze.

Your best bet is to request asisstance from your attorney, a community organization (like a law school immigration clinic) or your member of Congress.

The NSC and AILA have established long-standing protocols for handling emergency requests. Your lawyer should be aware of them.

A law school clinic also has ways of communicating directly with NSC officers to ask for rush processing (the clinic I am working at did this last week as a matter of fact).

An of course members of congress have a hotline into the USCIS.
 
Based on the files I handled in the past few months, the NSC is very reasonable with what is an emergency.

call your congressman he/she can do it very quickly. I've asked for my congressman's help before and got my RTD within 3 days
