RFE on my I-485

Folks,

There is a case status change in my I-485 today. USCIS is requesting further information on my case. I filed AC21 after I changed the employer. I am guessing they needed more eveidence/information relating to this. I will update this thread after I receive the letter in hand.

Just one question: who will receive the RFE? myself or the attorney of record?

Might be both in most of the cases...You might be getting the RFE on medical...

Hope the new company is a large company...then no issues...
 
My best wishes to anandkan, RFE is the last thing one wants at this mad run of approval. Hope you reply back soon and get your approval.

Have you changed your attorney?
 
Thanks StillAlive. Yes, I changed my attorney after I changed the employer. Does this affect in any way, the approval process? Thanks
 
Did you file a new G-28 after changing the attorney? If you didn't, or if you did but the USCIS hasn't processed the new G-28 yet, they might send the RFE to the old attorney. They usually send RFEs only to the attorney, not to the applicant. So if your current attorney doesn't get it soon, contact the old attorney to have it forwarded ASAP if they have it.
 
Make sure you reply to the RFE...ASAP...then they will aprove in 10 days after wards..if that is the only thing pending in your file.
 
Thanks Jack and dbwr. Yes, I filed G-28 as soon as I changed the employer. I already intimated to my new attorney about the RFE and she said she will submit the documents/evidence as soon as she receives the letter.

Hope it will be a simple RFE! All the best!! Please keep in touch with your attorney so that you can respond to the RFE quickly!
 
I received RFE on my I-485 last month and it was directed to my attorney. I didn’t received the notice. I changed my job and did not send AC21 documents. so I got a RFE for the current employement letter, W2, pay stubs and my spouse got an RFE to send all H1 and EAD documents, pay stubgs, passports etc.
 
Thanks maxgc, Didn't you receive the approval even though it's more than a month now? Looks like we are in for a long haul...hmm..so close yet so far:-(
 
After they received the response for the RFE , they sent me a NOID for missing the FP. That notice was directed to my attorney as well. We responded to NOID and they have rescheduled the FP appointment tomorrow.

My case is similar to your case, I got RFE on Jun 18th, original went to my old company attorney and a copy was sent to me,which I received on 25th June, The RFE is for TB test redone and current employer letter and paystubs,

I replied the RFE on 5th July and USCIS received on 9th july, On the same day they sent all the RFE documents back to me saying that a decision was made on my case, hence these documents no longer required. If your case is approved no further action required, if your case is denied follow the instructions in the notice. I was so surprised and my online status still show's that on 18th june we sent a RFE etc.,,

Didn't you send the TB test results along with the 485 application packet? Why do they keep you in suspense for so long? Did you try other avenues such as calling TSC or getting an InfoPass appointment to get the status?
 
I sent the medical initially, but the doctor did not checked the skin test checkbox, so I have to do it again.
19th I took infopass appointment, I hope I will know by then.
 
shree_lk, I pity you...the doctor is a moron...
BTW, there was an LUD change today in my case without any change in the message...Not sure what's happening...

Lx95, Interesting to note we both had LUD changes yesterday and today..not sure what's cooking...May be they will say we do not need the additional info..you are good to go...he he he he.....

may be they say, no need of RFE documents, My RFE documents they returned on the same day they received. Keep u r fingers cross.

I called yesterday and I talked to a lady and she is saying their database is still not updated, so call them again after one week, I took an Infopass hope I will get clarification.

Xfer to TSC from VSC Mar 2 07
2nd FP - MAY 9th 07
RFE on Medical and Current Emp letter on Jun 18th 07(Rec on 25th Jun 07)
Submitted RFE documents on 5th July 07
RFE Documents returned back to me saying decision has been made on this case, so RFE documents no longer required. Rec on 14th July 07
Online Status still showing as On 18th Jun we sent a RFE Notice etc.,,,,
Called on 16th Morning, the IO lady saying still their database is showing the same online message and ask me contact again in 3-4 days
I took Infopass for 19th
