RFE on I 797. What could it be?

I can share my experience, I received RFE for my son's birth certificate. Once I got RFE to give an experience letter from my last employee.
RFE as I read here is not a big thing. Even I was so scared earlier, it has been considered here as positive that USCIS is touching your file and working on it.

Thanks for the reassurance.
Its just that they have touched my file five years after 485 has been filed so I am hoping nothing is wrong now...

Usually USCIS sends the RFE notice to the lawyer so don't just expect anything in your mailbox. Call your lawyer and check with them if they received anything for you from USCIS. Ask them to keep a lookout for your RFE as it can be received anytime now. Usually they ask for the evidence and give a few weeks time to produce the evidence and if we do not reply to the RFE in the timeframe provided the case is suspended. So think of what docs USCIS may be needing and start putting them together. If you have used AC21 they might be needing a new job's offer letter and job description, or if you have not provided the TB x-ray result for you or your family with the I-693 (medical form), they would request that. Or maybe some certificates that might be missing from the packet - degrees, birth certificate, marriage certificate etc. I am sure your attorney will get something before the end of this week and you'll exactly know what they need.Good Luck

One more thing that I think is worth keeping in mind is to reply before February 2007 if you see retrogression in the March Visa bulletin. I had not provided my TB x-ray result with my medical -I693 form as I was pregnant at that time and I got an RFE back in Sept 2005 requesting the xray results and by the time I replied which was within a week, the EB3 - India numbers retrogressed (remember the big retrogression in Oct 2005?) and my case got pushed back. So try to keep that in mind too. I am sure you do not want to wait any longer than you already have. So good luck and stay on top of it.

when u got the medical RFE was the LUD change/message change on ur case or ur husband's?
In our case the RFE has been issued to the primary applicant on the 797 form. So from your post i gather that if it was a medical RFE it will be on the 693 form.
Plz. correct me if i am wrong...

The LUD Message change was on my case. It was not on form I693 but it was about my form I693 which I submitted with my I485 application. I693 is the medical exam form which in my case was incomplete due to my pregnancy - the xray was missing.
I just did a quick research on Form I797 on Google. It looks like it is a notice sent by USCIS to the applicant. The notice could be anything - an approval or an RFE or anything else.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'll try to answer from my experiences,

Thankyou for going out of your way to help...i guess I just have to wait and watch what this is all about.
In any case even if it is a medical RFE until i receive the notice nothing can be done other than searching for a doctor and keeping his numbers ready!
