Yesterday I received an email from USCIS in response to my inquiry about my RFE status online that was not changed for a while.

We apologize for the error on USCIS Case Status Online that states you were mailed an RFE notice requesting additional evidence on Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. This is a service error. The notice that was mailed out was your Biometric Appointment Notice with your local ASC which you may have already attended. Your application is currently pending and will be worked in the order it was received by USCIS. Again we apologize for the error and any inconvenience it may have caused you. If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. Please remember: By law, every person who is not a U.S. citizen and who is over the age of 14 must submit Form AR-11 AND notify this office of their change of address, within 10 days from when they move (persons in "A" or "G" nonimmigrant status are exempt from this requirement). To notify this office of a move, visit our website at: www.uscis.gov or call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. The Form AR-11 can be downloaded from our website or you can call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 and we can order one for you. Instructions for filing the Form AR-11, including mailing instructions, are included on the Form. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Did you call the USCIS or did you use any other method of contact?

When you enquired ,did you call the USCIS or did you use any other method of contact (snail mail, email, fax or online chat)? The reason I ask is that I recently called to make an enquiry regarding the same issue (Mistaken RFE message) and so did my spouse and in both cases we got snail mail responses and quite differently worded from yours, actually giving info that my spouses was in queue for interview to be scheduled and for me that my Biometrics had been received, no action was needed on our part. I am not aware apart from phone/snail mail any other method of contact for the USCIS. But I got curious as I saw your post. BTW what does youe case status page say now? Ours still says RFE was sent back in Aug.

I called USCIS, my current status is as:

Current Status: This case has been sent for a standard interview.

Your case has been transferred to a local office and an interview will be scheduled. As part of our standard processing you will be sent a notice when the interview is scheduled, or if the office needs something from you. The erroneous RFE online status message received in August was an issue that has been previously covered in another thread and was reported by other applicants as well.

I think he was just showing this official email so people feel better about this issue, a lot of people are questioning this letter even if told this is just the fingerprinting letter so it is good to see an offcial response from them.

i called USCIS , initiated a service request. Got an email as "wchachar" mentioned. But online status still shows as "RFE" ..

Later i talked with Level 2 officer, she mentioned iam in queue for Interview and CFR will be mailed shortly .
