I applied for Canadian and US residency but I got US residency first and then I also got canadian residency. I was not sure that i am not allowed to keep both of them.

I worked in Canada for 1.5 months before someone told me that I am not allowed to have both US and residency so after knowing that I came back to US

I had just worked there for 1.5 months but maintained my residence in US.

Did I broke my US residency just by working in Canada for 1.5 months even though I came back to US?

Please reply!!!

What was your intent at the time you took the job in Canada? If you intended to work in Canada indefinitely, you probably broke your US residence, however if you only intended to make a short term visit, you probably did not.

Thanks boatbod for reply,

well i was not able to find the job and i was running out of my savings so i took one offer from Canada, but my intention was always to stay in US and i maintained my residency in US

secondly how will USCIS determine my intention?

Intent will be determined by your ties such as rental/lease agreement, financial accounts, location of immediate family members, and purpose of stay.

Right... obviously USCIS can't read your mind, but you need to frame the whole situation (and back it up with evidence) so the IO understands your actions from that point of view.

Just out curiousity on what basis did you get the Permanent residence visa? I guess sponsorship by a blood relative?
