Research Volunteer on a H1 visa

Hello
I am on a H1 visa employed by a private practice in Ohio. I was interested in working as research volunteer at a large Children's Hospital (unpaid). Are there any legal restriction to doing this? I do not expect to be paid at the Children's hospital and already have a full-time job with benefits through another employer.
Any help, especially with a reference, would be greatly appreciated.

H visa is a single employer visa with tight regulations mainly minimal wage in addition to others (You can not work free on H1 visa). for reference go to the USCIS web page and read instructions of H visa
