Hi,

I applied N400, pending finger printing and interview. Yesterday I got warning ticket (no points, no fine just warning) as speeding in schoolzone. At the time of interview should I update the officer about warning ticket. I already had 2 tickets which I mentioned in N400

please advise

thx

I don't think there is a need to report. But if you choose to report, report it.

The worst case scnario for not reporting is USCIS find out and consider stop by police to be arrest or detention and ask you why you did not disclose and you can say it is just a warning and you are not really arrested or detetained.

The worst case cenario for reporting is that USCIS ask you to go to the police to get a letter why a citation or charge is not filed

In either case it is extremely unlikely. So I don't think it is an issue. So I would not report it

just have it with you and show/disclose to IO during the interview to be on a safe side (if you are too worried) ..99.9% sure that IO will do not care about it...

however, disclosing it will give you a piece of mind (errors can happen...policy officer may report the ticket by error...which may show up a report goes to USCIS.....again...very slim liklihood-less than 1%) ...

Did cop give you any paper/documentation for the warning? If yes, it must have been recorded.

If you didn't get any paper/documentation from the cop, I don't think that would be even considered 'citation'....

if the warning ticket doesn't require a court appearance, then you do not have to disclose it as it technically isn't a citation. as others have mentioned, just have it handy with you during the interview just in case it comes up but you do not need to disclose/offer it.

It's a WARNING. There is no fine and no court appearance is required. In other words, there's no need to mention it at the interview.

I got 2 written warnings since becoming an LPR. I will get the a record (if available) from the Police just in case they ask for it. so you guys think I shouldn't bother and check Question # 16 (Part 10) on the I-400?
