Reply from Mumbai Consulate?

hi KYCP,

thanks for taking the time to jot down the details and the useful links! i guess i will get copies of my degree notarized as well.

there is one other thing -- The Sailing Permit. I plan to get it tomorrow/dayafter. Have heard it is irrelevant, but want to get it anyways..

the last time i went to the local ins office, they asked me to come with the airline ticket.

will post details after i get it.

Sailing permit

I think the sailing permit is issued by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and not BCIS/INS. Sailing permit is a tax related document.

My I-140 is approved as on 4/1/03. While filing I-140, I had intimated that I was interested in doing consular processing from Mumbai.

From now on how do I find out when I should expect PAcket3, when NVC will receive it, when NVC will forward to Mumbai consulate, when Mumbai consulate will forward Packet 4 and schedule a consular interview???? At what point do I get some kind of a reference/ case number for the interview coz I understand that the I-140 case number is no longer used for reference purposes?

Is there a web site where i can find these dates and next steps after I-140 approval?

Any information is well appreciated.

Any Replies to Emails

Has anybody been getting any replies from the Mumbai Consulate to your emails?

I have sent 3-4 emails in two weeks and have got no replies from them. Anybody has seen any delays lately.

I had the same problem - no reply to my first email sent on 1st Aprill.

I sent another email on April 15th and got a reply to that one next day. I followed that up with another question but did not get a reply again..

They seem to be a little erratic in responding to emails..(probably due to their very busy schedules).

I wouldnt be too concerned about it...
