Just to share my dad's experience,
1993 apply for asylum
1998 asylum is approved
1999 apply green card
2003 got green card
2004 went back to COP
2005 went back to COP
2006 went back to COP
2007 went back to COP but got trouble at entry, lots of questions are asked but eventually let through
2008 Nov. citizenship interview, was not asked additional questions regarding visiting COP but asked to write down the reasons for each visit.
I think for dad's case, time plays a big difference, after all the 1st time he set his feet on COP is more than 10 years since he left. Lots of things are changed during those years.
