renew TN

Hi All,
I have two questions:
My I140 just got approved. Does this affect my TN renewal?
My TN visa will expire on August this year. Can I go to border to renew it now?

I-140 on its own will not impact TN renewal; I-485 submission will however. But, if you are allowed to file I-485 now, I would do this quickly and get EAD and AP. You will have these before your TN expires.

If you are not allowed yet, then I would be filing I-129 for renewal (you can only do this within six months of current TN expiry so you can do it now). You cannot get a new TN at the border until approx. 2-4 weeks left on TN (ie. July). Don't file I-485 (if allowed) until you get that approval.
