My ND date is May 01. I received a RFI today..just checked my mail while home for lunch. It asks for

1) New Medicals
2) A birth certificate(I submitted affadavits)
3) Updated Biographic Form

Good for you!

I don't know what this RFI is all about.

Here is my prediction. By May 2005, INS will approve cases received on or before May 2000. They are now requesting RFI for applications with RD as late as May 2001. My presumption is that thru the next fiscal year (starts Oct 2005), they will approve cases with RD May 2000 thru May 2001. Slowly, but surely, the the law suit settlement is making a differnce.

I dont agree with your prediction..because before the lawsuit was settled they were to process till may 00 for this Fiscal year.Adding 8000 GCs to that would make it jump till 11/00..SO this fiscal year should cover till 11/00 and next fiscal year should cover from 12/00 to 12/01.

wantmygcnow! If they were to process your case next fiscal year then why have they asked you about medical when CIS knows that they expire in 1 year. I don't know whats going on.

I would be even more worried if people with ND's 2004 start to receive these "RFI's". Hopefully they put a stop at May 2001

My thinking is even if medicals expire after 1 year...and I submit mine lets say by April 01, 2005...I can be approved by April 01, 2006 as i predicted the 05/01-05/02 cases will be approved till..

On the other hand, It may be possible that RFI is being sent by "low levels" who dont really know when medicals etc expire..This is just to get applications ready..maybe something to do with their "backlog reduction initiative" they started last year...I feel its that..which started with Fingerprints and now its just trying to get allt he information ready but how sad that they are just creating more work for them since medicals expire after 1 year..

I think that this 1 year medical expiration is NOT a law but just Management based principle at Lincoln center. Because they have worked around it by approving 1999 cases without request for new medical provided that the applicant originally submitted medical with I-485.
Just a thought...

The big difference is that there is no charge for extra fingerprints, but medicals are expensive, in my case we're 6 in the family (4 kids) and medicals for 6 are a lot of $$$$ to make it twice.

BTW, how much are them, around $300 each person?

I did my medicals today...I didnt wait..took of early from work..made an appoitnment and got my medicals done. I had all my records from before and even the copy of my old medical report that the doc gave me....The doc is approved..I will get the results on Wednesday in a sealed envelope and ready to mail it once I get it..

Cheers

Hey...where did you get your chest x-ray? Kaiser?
Kaiser doesn't want to do it because you got a tb skin test from outside.
Did the civil surgen give you the medication because the result is positive?
