Received plastic, not backdated

I went to get a stamp and provide a fingerprint on May 5 and I received the actual plastic card today. Very expedient.
However it is not backdated at all.
What is going on, I saw on this forum someone else complaining about the same thing.

I would first double check your card to make sure (maybe you were too excited;it happened to me :)

You can file an I-90 (no fee) to have this corrected. Should not be a big deal.

I checked it

I double and triple checked it. It is not backdated a single day.
I think this automated system caused this.

1 year

I expect it to be backdated acording to law 1 year before the approval.

OK,
I wanted to file an I-90 form online and I went through every step except pressing the Confirmation button. I selected that the reason for filing the form is incorrect data due to BSCIS error but I never had an option to explain what the error was. What do I do?

sorry to bother you again: are you talking about the asylum approval date as the date which should be on the card or some other date in the process? thx

I-485 approval

The approval of Adjustment to Permanent Resident application, not the asylum application.

Alex_e38! Do they give you an option online to manually print the form and submit it. If so then print out this form and submit it to the correct address with a letter explaining situation. If only way to submit is electronically, then submit it and pray to God that they understand what they did wrong.

But this is pure B.S. and height of incompetence from CIS. Also a mental torture too.

Good luck,

I printed it out

I was approved on 03/17/2005.

I printed out the confirmation and am going to send it with a letter explaining that the card was not backdated.

ok, it seems they have to do it for you so i guess you have nothing much to worry about. congratulations for your finally established residency:) good luck:)

File the form thru the mail the old fashion way.

I think they probably have the right date in their computers. But obviously you want a new card to reflect the correct adjustment date.

They frequently make this mistake with respect to refugees and asylees. Backdating is really a special dispensation that they do not do every day for other categories of immigrants.

I'm sure

What is LUD, I'm not sure what are you talking about.
I'm sure about the document, it clearly states Resident Since 03/17/05

That was last update status ...I think in march the date on your status online was ahead april if I'm correct ...Anyways if the date is wrong (not backdated) it's a easy fix my brother in law had the same problem a few years back

You are right

You are right about LUD.

It was my mistake, but I only made the mistake when typing a date in a mesage I posted here, not in reading the date in a USCIS mesage I received.

Anyway, I filed I-90 online and am sending the letter to USCIS tomorrow.

Thanks,
Alex
