Could I take another Infopass appoitment in the meanwhile ? Is there any restriction on the number or frequency of Infopass appointments ? I do not want to miss out on the next ceremony because I imminently need to make a foreign travel by early Nov.2010. Your feedback will be appreciated.

NO. Unless you want to become known as a "USCIS stalker", you just need to find something else to occupy your time. The IO told you that you will receive a communication from them, how is this NOT clear? October 27 is still weeks away, so USCIS still have time to send you an oath letter in the mail. You can still use your green card to travel, nothing prevents from using it. I would strongly suggest you look at the ATL N400 thread on how some people got their oath ceremony with just mere 14 days to the day of their swearing-in.

You can easily check to see if your oath has been schedule by talking with an IO over the phone.
