Received my FP notices

Hi,

My wife and I got our FP notices today. This is for second round of FP. I have in the past seen a few approvals for similar situations right after they went for their FP. I really hope this is good news for us who are waiting for such a long time for our approvals.

Congrats !!! I am in a similar boat as u. I file in Jan 2005. Pending name check since. I'm waiting too for my second FP.
Question : Did you see a LUD on your 485 when you got the second FP ?

techieGuy -- no there was no LUD on my case. I just got the FP notices. No LUD or anything.

Congrats! I am pretty sure once you go for 2nd FP - then anywhere within 1-2 months you would receive your approval notices. Normally, they would ask for 2nd FPs only when all the checks are cleared and the case already been assigned to adjudicating offcer. The best way to double-check that would be through you State Senator's Office.
 
I am in similar boat and I hope everything goes ok from here. Mine is a Labor Sub caes (my original was stuck for 5 yrs). I received my 2nd FP notice on 01/12 and got it done on 01/17. Last night (10:30pm), there was a message change "FP review complete". But, no approval yet.. wait is on..

Congrats...i amj waiting for my third round of FP. Hopefully we get it soon...

Seems like "tere to nikal pare", I have been also waiting from last 4 years, my 485 ND 04/2004 and PD is 09/1999 and only got 1 FP in 03/2005.Did you finally file WOM ? I know few of you were thinking about it ?. I am not sure if you remember me but I spoke to you 1 1/2 years ago.

"pata nahi nikal padi ya wahi ki wahi rahi" hoping for the best but some folks have had their second and third FPs too with no positive end result. so hoping, waiting and watching.

I did not do WoM. I am going to wait and see what this FP thing leads to. Good Luck with your case too my friend.

I can imagine how nerve wracking it could be, especially its been a long and never ending wait, with so many twist and turns. But ....I hope it worth a wait. Hangin bro.

Seems like a very good sign. Get an info pass to see if all checks are cleared.

Nerve wrecking exp

Guys,

I would like to share something that I had to go thru in last few 2 months. I submitted my I485 on 12/17/2004. I kind of gave up that it would come when it is going to be due. But, in Nov 2006 I thought it is enough and I wrote a letter to First Lady. Within 2 weeks I received a reply from FBI that they received the forwarded letter from First Lady and they submitted the findings on 12/11/2006.

On 01/10/2007, I received my 2nd FP notice and I thought everything in going great. I had my 2nd FP on 01/17/2007 and I was expecting the magic email anyday.

But I didn't receive anything till today and I took an infopass appoitment and spoke to an immigration officer this morning. I could not believe when she said that my name check is pending. I told her that I have received this letter from FBI and it seems everything is done. But, as usual she said that's what it was and I could speak to someone at VSC.

I called VSC and they said that name check is cleared from FBI, but VSC does another check (which I never knew) and that is pending (They had 2 years and 1 month and they did not do). She mentioned that there is no timeline involved here. So keep on waiting..

I am not sure it is going to help anyone, but I do wish that no one should go thru such an ordeal..

i guess there are lots of new things happening inside uscis which are not open to everyone....sometimes these representatives also dont have much idea of whats going on. i would recommend that you keep your push going on and things will happen...

Oh boy!!! USCIS just keeps coming up with things to make things better :-(

interesting..so much for the feel good factor and I dont even know for sure that the name check thing is complete. Just great.

anyways, thanks for sharing your experience. so yoiu still waiting for your approval now?

just called my Senator's office

and they confirmed that sometimes the USCIS (VSC) is sending these FPs our of they have expired so that once the name checks are in the processing of applications do not wait for issuance of FPs.

anyways this atleast is good news that they are issuing out FP notices so we dont have to wait once our name checks are back.

Can you please specify details as to what exactly did they told you (Senator's Office). Also which state's senator did you contacted? Did they specifically told you that your name check is still pending?
 
No they have not said my case is pending name check

that is exactly what I want them to find. I had previously contacted my congressman's office who have send the query to the FBI but we have not heard back (for more than 8 weeks now)

So today I contacted our Senator's office (Senator Kennedy). While talking about someone elses case the immigration liason at senator's office said that USCIS is sending out these FP notices -- but that should not necessarily mean that name check is complete.

So while I see the FP notices as a positive sign I dont want to get my hopes way too high-- I have been disappointed before -- So I try to post any information I get.

I will post any information I get from the Senators office as I get it -- esp with regards to my name check. I will also post if there is any movement on my case after my FP.

Not sure what I could say my friend. Other than waiting what else we could do?? I have a friend who is at senrior level in state department. I will check with him tonight and see if he could do anything.

I wish all the best too.. I was somehow getting surprise that almost everbody with PD of Dec 2004 received the 2nd FP notice. But, now I am not expecting anything. But, I do know one thing is that "my name check is done" (since I have the letter from FBI). Now I have to wait for this USCIS security check.
