You use the term "Fast" loosely! almost one and a half years to get to the Interview is not "fast".
Nonetheless congrats on passing the dreaded Namecheck

Congrats, you are one of the lucky ones! But your case doesn't show anything besides proving the point that USCIS processing system is as far from being fair as possible.

Actually, being raised in the communist country, USCIS remains me the totalitarian, buraucratic and unfair system they used to have in the Soviet Union back in 80ish. There're quite a few similarities, i.e. you pay fees for everything up front, they never tell you what's going on, they treat you like sheep or slave and unless you were born under lucky star or happen to have connections, you are doomed for life.
Here we go... USCIS vs Communism. Not sure which one I hate more.

I am sorry to hear about the long wait...I know of a few other friends of mine whose file got stuck with this background check for over a year now...I know the pain....Things will hopefully improve....Good luck with your case...

Hi SOnu,

COngrats. I also got interview date as 06/25/08

I have a question though. The heading on my notice says
" Request for applicant to Appear for Naturalization Initial Interview"

Does this mean just interview only or both interview+oath?

what does it say on your notice letter first line?

They use the term "initial interview" to mean the naturalization interview itself. Whether the DO has same day oaths and your interview is early enough so that you can attend a same day oath is another question.

Thanks Bob,

My interview is at 8:40 am.
And apparently at Newark DO ( which happens to be mine too) the oaths have taken place on same day as gathered from this board.
So does it mean my oath could be on same day?
