Received GC. Can I file AC21 now?

I received my GC last week.

I left the sponsoring company 2 years back. But I forgot to file AC21 now. Can I file AC21 now with an earlier date on the letter OR is it too late?

Please advise.

Don't worry. It is not mandatory to inform change of employer under AC21. Just stay with your current employer in same or similar job for 6 months from the time you got your GC.

Dallas03096 - thanks for your reply.

However, you know how INS is. They may later come back with some additional information on AC21 saying that it is mandatory to inform INS and those who never informed might have problems during Naturalization.

Thats why I was asking if I can send the AC21 letter now (better late than never).

What do you gurus think?

Apparently not informing USCIS about job change under AC21 has not been a problem so far. Please look at the postings of the following users in Naturalization forum ( I have not read all of them):

Informing the USCIS of your AC21 job change is to protect yourself in case the original sponsoring employer decides to revoke the I-140. You have the GC, so that is no longer a problem.

*****i-140 Q****

Folks,

Some related question. Do we have to get the original I-140 from GC sponsor employer after getting GC and working with other employer without applying for AC-21?

Thanks in advance.
