The second FP notices have all been for people with 485 submission dates in the second half of 2005 (July - December). I guess this is TSC's version of Spring Cleaning.

I dont know the status of my NC. I called TSC using POJ and a lady responded that these sort of enquiries are not replied to at the service center. I need to make a status enquiry with the National Customer Service. I think I will call again, hoping it will be somebody else who picks up the phone next time.

The usual customer service number (800-375-5283) and then once you have punched in your I-485 receipt number, go for the option: "If your case has been separated from primary . . ." you should then hear "Welcome to the TSC".

Do NOT hit the option for "case outside processing time" - that just takes you to the customer service.

I have a problem with the POJ trick. I filed my case in VSC and now it has been transferred to TSC. Meanwhile I had to move to CA. Now when I call from my CA cell phone it takes me to CSC (I guess) and says its not 8AM yet. I am not able to connect to TSC. Can someone suggest a workaround for my problem?

Actually mine's June 05. I think most from this time frame (1.5 - 2.5 yrs going back from now) have been called up. Also, many of the NC clearances via FL have been for these spans. Of course there are some exceptions.

Since it is not true that only transfer cases have been called up, this is most probably a mass notice for people from this time frame. Alternately since many NCs have also lasted this time frame, it is likely that TSC received a bunch of NC clearances and that prompted this action.

In any case I am happy that somebody dug my file out without me nudging them.
 
Hi Guys,
I have a problem with the POJ trick. Now when I call the 800# (8AM PST) it directly takes me to CSC or National Service center. The reps give the same details we can see online, nothing more. Can someone help me out with this.

Thank you banta for the information. The problem is when I hit 6 it takes me directly to the CSC or NSC and the rep just reads from the online case status. Nothing more. I will try again in the afternoon. Thanks.
 
I called using the POJ........but the lady says we need to call national customer service since we are asking about application status..

do we keep trying till we reach a nice lady/man??

Yes. Unfortunately, not all personnel are cooperative. I got such a response a couple of weeks ago.

Today morning was different though.

I was only beginning to tell the lady my "GC journey" and she simply asked, "Do you want to check on your status?", I said "Yes" and then she divulged a whole lot of encouraging information.

Thanks banta4gc. I tried this method and got connected to SRC. It was not very helpful, but confirmed that my name check has not been cleared. So I guess people who got their FP2 might be on track to approval. All the best to all of you. I've got nothing to do other than wait.

FYI-

As you already aware that I have got second FP notice as well my security checks have been cleared.

My employer immigration specialist confirmed with me that she got 6 similar FP notices for her. and said that this is the last stage of I-485 “green card” production.

Few years ago, USCIS never used to request for Fingerprints....they used to only invite for FP once the namecheck was done....so that way, they would do the Fingerprint check onle once and if everything checks out,...one would get 485 approval....So, lot of people would inherently know - if they get FP notice - their approval would happen with next 1-3 months....

But, these days, USCIS took the approach of requesting FP notice every 15 months...so, you get FP notice immediately as soon as you apply for I485 and every 15 months!

I have seen most guys getting approved within the first 7-14 days...

I still remeber yoginm73...last year...who got approved after getting interviewed within 2-3 days and almost the just days before EB2 went unavailable...

I was reading this forum and it is really interesting.
I wish i had read about writing to FL earlier. Anyways,
On May 7th 2007 i had written a letter to FL asking for help on my NC.
I hope , will get my NC cleared soon.
