HR sent the form to Vermont center a month ago by Fedex overnight but we havn't got the receipt notice yet. As I remember correctly, we got it in about two weeks last year. I know that I have to wait more. I just want to know how long it would generally take to get it. If we don't get it in another week or two, is there any way to contact them and ask about the status?

Thanks

Not sure what to tell you mine was filed June 25th we got the receipt notice the following week.
It was sent to VSC @:

USCIS
Vermont Service Center
ATTN: I-129
75 Lower Weldon Street
St. Albans, VT 05479-0001

It looks like that something went wrong. My question is how we do contact them to ask about the status??????

Without the case number it is very difficult to get them to search for a case. If the check was cashed, it would have the case number on it, but these days it is hard to geta hold of a cancelled check. Otherthna that you could ask them to look for I-129s received on the day(s) close to your Fedex info.

This does highlight one of the advantges of e-filing in that a case number is assigned immediately, no need to wait for a receipt to be lost by USPS.

nelsona,

Thank you for re-iterating what I have said a million times on this forum about e-filing.

Our financial dept confirmed that the check was redeemed on June the 23rd. HR is trying to find out what happened and get the status from them. I will share the information that I may get with others in this forum.

Thanks

I sent my latest TN renewal package to Vermont on May 12, 2008 (Certified Mail). From the USCIS notice it said the receipt date was May 16, 2008. Receipt notice was mailed to me with a notice date of May 29, 2008. Just got my TN renewal approved yesterday (August 6, 2008). Approval notice along with my new I-94 should be on it's way this week.

As you can see, receipt notices don't always get to you ASAP, may be a couple weeks or so.

Our HR contacted the service center. They asked my name, birthday and the company name to pull out the information and replied that they mailed the receipt notice 3 days after they got the documents but we didn't get it. We requested that they send it again just in case. The lady on the phone said that she would put a note on it but it would be very unlikely that they resend it. Anyhow, I got the case number (receipt number). I think this is important. In the USCIS website, I made a login id and checked the number and registered my e-mail address so that they send e-mail to me when they approve it.

Thanks

Getting the case number was gold! With that, as you know, you can now track your case.

It is usually impossible to get a case number by phone.

Kudos to your HR.
