Re-entry using AP - Urgent!!!

Guys,

My wife is coming back to US after a short vacation and she has used EAD for work. She has AP for her reentry, but I read some posts in this forum that we also need to have 485 receipt along with AP to reenter US. She doesn't have the receipt with her and she is coming back today.

Is this true, can somebody share thier experience/knowledge?

It's all depends upon the port of reentry. Some may ask about I485 receipt and some don't. As for as my recent experience in LA airport, no one asked for I485 receipt, but they took a copy of AP. so make sure you carry couple of AP copies. Since your wife is working on EAD, which you can show to them, I don't think you have any problem of carrying I485 receipt.
 
Current APs have a barcode that links all the pending applications of the AP holder.
Generally I485 receipt is not required, unless there is a A# mistake.
